My Duty as an American

I have shared some thoughts on Facebook since the election 3 days ago, but have little time these days to string sentences together. I am busy keeping the wolf away from the door working more and harder to earn a dollar that is shrinking.  As to the election, I do believe we are headed down a path that brings bad things, we did as a nation choose decadence and sinful behavior as the norm and and in some states made behaviors legal.  From 3rd Nephi 29 chapter heading is this thought with no timeline attached nor implied by me. I am thankful for God’s patience with all of us, but I am told by a good source that “He will not be mocked!”.

“Chapter 29
The coming forth of the Book of Mormon is a sign that the Lord has commenced to gather Israel and fulfill his covenants—Those who reject his latter-day revelations and gifts will be cursed. About A.D. 34–35.”

That shared I do consider it way more helpful and productive to spend my time learning to serve more in my community and sharing the Gospel daily. The fall before the return of the Savior will require greater compassion and other Christ-like attributes than I now have. The curse mentioned could be lack of jobs, illness, lack of medical system, loss of heart to help myself and family, and many other sad situations.
I have seen the favelas of Brasil and do not wish this poverty on anybody. My sister who spent more than the 3 years I spent there and travels, says the slums of India are worse. I have watched a few movies that are way too graffic about what could be. I am preparing for a time all too soon to use my meager medical and herbal knowledge to help others and to share my possessions as I can if I have any left from the socialist government we now have.  Just look at how unprepared the East Coast was for a couple of abnormal and severe weather occurrences.

I learned as a teen after leaving home in Brasil (missionary Parents), and moving back to California that there are consequences from my behavior.  Life has been a process of working for good results or ignoring the consequences my actions bring.  I have many more experiences in the Army as a medic that bring those lessons home.  As a father and working in the wilderness I have learned to progress with what I have.  My Faith born of goodly Parents carries me through and tells me of a need to share in the neighborhood, more not less in the coming days.
